T-Mobile took a jibe on Hollywood sweethearts Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton in the new commercial which has got it trending as soon as it was released ahead of the Super Bowl game.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are worlds apart, Blake being a country singer while Gwen is famous for her pop and punk rock songs. They both met on the set of “The Voice”. The interaction resulted in them getting engaged last year.

Adam Levine of ‘Maroon5’, also a judge at “The Voice”, has witnessed their story from the very beginning and in the commercial, plays the role of a cupid among the two. The tagline for the T-Mobile advertisement was how a phone call with bad service can pair you up like Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

In the ad, Stefani is seen having a video call with friend Adam Levine describing how she is ready to jump back into dating and this time around, she wants to date someone totally different. Someone who belongs to another country, being cultured and sensitive, and who is definitely not threatened by a confident, strong woman. Due to bad cellular service at Levine’s end, he gets a completely different message. He hears Stefani describing her as kind of a guy being uncultured and is definitely threatened by a strong confident woman and someone who belongs to the country. At that very moment, Blake walks in with hands loaded with nachos and wings. Levine brings the two together and the rest is history.

The two finally meet at a blind date set up by Adam Levine, both confused and shocked but love sparkles. T-Mobile kept the humor quotient high in the ad, highlighting the moral of the story as “don’t trust your love life to any network”. The ad was well-received by the public. One of the fans tweeted that this is exactly how Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton met.
