Superstar singer Adele announced on Thursday that her Las Vegas residency will be pushed back due to her team testing positive for COVID and other technical issues. The 33-year-old singer was seen fighting back tears in a video she uploaded on her social media, announcing to her fans why the show had to be postponed just a day before it was set to start.

“Half my crew, half my team, are down with COVID, they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. I’m gutted, and I’m sorry it’s so last minute. We’ve been awake for 30 hours now trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time,” said British singer Adele in her video she posted on Twitter.

The ‘Weekends with Adele’ titled LA residency was supposed to kick off this weekend, continuing for several weekends ahead. Fans however have been divided over the last-minute call-off due to several reasons. Many of the fans had flown in from all over the country, to watch Adele live in a one-of-a-kind event that she has not ventured in, in the past.

Her caption for the video just said, “All dates will be rescheduled

More info coming soon💔”

Caesars Palace released their own statement saying “creating a show of this magnitude is incredibly complex,” adding, “We fully support Adele and are confident the show she unveils at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will be extraordinary.”

Fans however have been divided, with some supporting Adele with kind and understanding words, while others think that it is too last minute to announce it now.

Brandon Pop wrote retweeting her original tweet, “I respect that Adele only wants to give a show that is her best effort for the fans. And you can tell she is really pained by inconveniencing people. Wish more artists showed heart and empathy like this when canceling shows. Adele has nothing to be embarrassed about!” Internet celebrity Kalen Allen also wrote, “You did the absolute right thing! There is nothing wrong with being an artist and being sensitive about your shit! The world isn’t going anywhere! Everyone will still be right there ready to dance, sing, cry and laugh! There is nothing wrong with wanting to give your best!”
