Nick Saban leads Alabama Crimson Tide to an emphatic win against Buckeyes, yesterday, improving his personal record by winning the seventh national title – Alabama’s sixth championship win – in 12 years under his coaching.
The Alabama Crimson Tide Team has secured the top position in college football, by winning the 18th national title with an astounding 52-24 win over Buckeyes Ohio State in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Alabama has been undefeated throughout the season with a 13-0 record. In the final, they scored a record 52 points, which is the most ever points scored by Alabama in the final of the college football championship game.
DeVonta Smith outshined everyone in the field. He was unstoppable, pulling 12 catches on his 13 targets for 215 yards with three touchdowns. But he had to leave the game with a hand injury. Mac Jones quickly proved his value as the best replacement of a quarterback and finished with 464 yards and five touchdowns.
Another name worth the mention is that of Najee Harris, who was the beast to represent Crimson Tide jersey. He was an all-purpose machine from the very beginning and managed three touchdowns. Harris like Smith was also a member of the team during the last national title run.
Buckeyes Ohio State entered the game with a nose dip already, because of key players unavailable (mainly due to COVID-19 pandemic), and also, they had played fewer games compared to other teams and were highly criticized by the analysts. They played with all their might, but it was just NOT their day!
The finale of college football season saw an upbeat ending; that too during a pandemic. At one stage in summers when it was highly unlikely to organize sporting events; and with the disruptions in the fall; the season ended just as predicted leaving behind bittersweet memories for everyone to cherish!
