At least thirty individuals were shot in Chicago this weekend and five have died, including a duty-made Chicago police officer.

Two police officers in Chicago were shot at around 9 p.m. Saturday night during Bell’s traffic check-up.

Three people, two men, and a woman were in the vehicle.

A person in the vehicle opened fire at the police during the traffic check, who returned a shot.

Two police officers and one of the car occupants were injured. The two men were detained, the police said, including the one who was injured and taken to the Christ’s Advocate Centre. Police were looking for the female passenger in the car.

Police officers who were injured were transported to the medical center of the University of Chicago. The 29-year-old female officer was confirmed to have died later that morning and the male officer was still critical.

The name of the officer was not revealed.

On Saturday night, a mass shooting was also reported on the Near West Side this weekend.

Four people were wounded, three of them severely, in a shooting Saturday night on the Near West Side.

About 7:10 pm, when a car pulled up and someone started shooting inside, four men walked down the street in the 200 block of South Maplewood Ave.

Several hours ago, a four years old kid and a boy of 19 years of age were shot at a funeral that took place in West Garfield Park.

The two were shot at around 7:15 pm on West Washington Boulevard on the sidewalk from an unconfirmed direction. Family members met for a funeral at West Garfield Park.

A 19-year old man, the target, got stuck in the buttocks and abdomen and was sent to the Medical Center Mount Sinai in severe condition. The four-year-old was injured and the aircraft was transported in stable condition to Stroger Hospital.

The young man, 38, was shot and killed about 9:10 p.m. Friday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Police said that in the 3400 block of West Division Street, the victim was seated on the front seat of a car traveling west when bullets were fired from another vehicle. The driver shot the man in his face and drove him to the Health Hospital in Humboldt Park, where he was reported dead.

Just over an hour later, a man, 31, was killed in the South Shore neighborhood.

In his apartment building’s hallway, on East 67th Street, 1700 block, he was shot in the chest shortly before 10 pm. He had been taken to the Medical Center of the University of Chicago, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Two men were killed at around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday in an apparent killing suicide in the Cragin neighborhood.

In the block of West Armitage Avenue, police said a 28-year-old male and a 27-year-old man were found dead in their apartment. The younger man was found with a gun, and police claimed it appeared as though he had shot the elderly man and killed him before he shot himself in the head.

Both people died at the place.
