A house party in Chicago turned to mayhem when four children among six people were shot. According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting occurred around 11.40 pm in the neighborhood of Austin.  A girl aged 12 was declared to be the youngest victim of the Chicago shooting.

Police officials said the girl received a gunshot wound on the hand and was rushed to Stroger Hospital for immediate treatment. A 15-year-old girl was also shot in the head and two other girls, aged 14 and 13 respectively, were shot on the buttocks, confirmed the police.

Authorities also confirmed the shooting of a 19-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, who appeared at Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment. In a statement released to the public, police said the victims were at a party when a “dark-colored SUV fired shots.” No arrests have been made in connection to the Chicago shooting so far.

The Chicago shooting occurred during another spell of mass killings in the city. Over the weekend, a total of three people were killed and 42 were injured in various shootings across town. One of the deadliest shootings included a 29-year-old man, who was fatally shot in the area of Austin on Friday. Several other men were also wounded in the incident.

Additionally, a man, aged 30 was shot dead on Sunday in the South Side of Chicago, police said. According to the police, the victim had been walking on a side path when a grey sedan passed by and fired at him. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment, where he was declared dead soon after.

Shooting in the East Garfield Park neighborhood also took the life of a 31-year-old man. The victim was shot dead during a heated argument that began around 1.46 a.m. on Saturday. Police said no arrests have been made concerning the accident.

Moreover, an 8-year-old boy and a 28-year-old man were shot while riding in a private vehicle.  While the man was hit on the back, the young boy had been shot in the leg. This incident occurred a while after midnight on Sunday, in the Southside of Chicago, said police.
