A Florida guy has grabbed a world record after viewing “Spider-Man: No Way Home” 292 times.
To earn the record, Ramiro Alanis spent 720 hours in total, or 30 days, viewing the latest installment of “Spider-Man” from Dec 16, 2021 to Mar 15, 2022. The initial few weeks of his attempt, he saw five screenings in a row back to back.
It took three months to break the world record and Alanis thinks he spent roughly $3,400 on the movie tickets.
The previous record was held by Arnaud Klein who watched a movie 204 times.
According to Guinness, Alanis set out to break the record in memory of his late grandma, Juany. “She was my #1 supporter and I want to remain the record holder,” he said in a statement.
The rules of the record mandate that the “movie must be seen independently of any other activity” — meaning Alanis couldn’t take a sleep, use his smartphone, or even go to the restroom while viewing the film.
Hundreds of viewings has made Ramiro an expert in the film’s screenplay, telling Guinness that he can “pretty much recite the dialogue along with the movie.”
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” has grossed over $1 billion in worldwide sales.
