Recently, a set of emails were released concerning the Hunter Biden conspiracy and in response to that, a public statement was issued signed by 50 retired senior intelligence officials claiming that the emails had the identifying features of Russian information operation.

The New York Post recently reported that they received a copy of Hunter Biden’s hard drive by Trump’s lawyer. The lawyer reported acquiring it from a laptop shop owner in Delaware who has also informed the FBI about this.

This hard drive contained documents that tied Joe Biden to his son’s business dealings. The intelligence officials have claimed that they could smell Russian conspiracy because of their experience in the intelligence. They did not, however, provide any evidence.

In addition to this, they were also concerned that if the Russians are indeed involved in this, the voting in the American elections will be tampered with.

A former top aide under the CIA explains that the IC leaders who signed the letter have served Donald Trump and three previous American presidents as well.

The officials who signed the letter included the former acting director of the National Counterterrorism Center, the former deputy NSA director, the former CIA senior operations officer among many others.

Although the FBI is investigating this controversy, the director of National Intelligence has claimed that the documents found on Biden’s laptop are not linked to a Russian conspiracy.

Former Intelligence Officials Release a Public Statement on Hunter Biden’s Russian LinkThis controversy is similar to the one in the 2016 elections when the Russians released emails from the Democrats on social media. This led to Trump making allegations of rigged elections and corruption.

Even though there is no solid evidence of Russian involvement yet, this situation draws parallels with the 2016 elections. US intelligence agencies have explained this as a disinformation campaign by the Russians to harm Biden’s campaign.

A Ukrainian lawyer was accused of being involved in this by the National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director. The Treasury Department issued a punishment for the lawyer for being an agent for Russia and obstructing this year’s elections.
