Gabby Petito’s mother and father, Nicole Schmidt and Joe Petito both revealed that they didn’t see any red flags at the start of Gabby’s and Laundrie’s adventure, what Gabby called a “vandwelling” lifestyle.

In an exclusive interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Nicole, Gabby’s mother, revealed that she was a bit skeptical about her daughter’s new adventure with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, but, “I felt safe because she was with Brian, and I felt like she would be okay … I thought that he would take care of her.”

When she was asked about what does she thinks, if the Laundrie’s know anything about their son, Schmidt was suspicious and replied, “Silence speaks volumes.”

When the investigators tried to talk to Laundrie’s parents, they were directed to the family attorney, who had asked his clients to remain silent.

Not only does Nicole believe that the Laundrie’s have an idea about the whole incident, but she also said, “I believe they know probably, if not everything, they know most of the information. I would love to face-to-face ask, ‘Why are you doing this?'”

Last week there was another breakthrough in the case where the Toton County Coroner, Benet Blue revealed that Gabby was strangled to death weeks before her body was found on 15th September.

Brian Laundrie was the only person seen last with her, thus he is named as the person of interest in the case. Moreover, his arrest warrant is also issued due to the unauthorized use of a debit card.

Gabby and Brian started their journey in July in Gabby’s white Ford. Gabby also wanted to record and upload her adventurous journey with the love of her life and wanted to document it on Youtube. However, the events soon took a sudden u-turn when Brian Laundrie returned to his parent’s home in Florida in Petito’s car without her.

As per the mother of Gabby Petito, she wasn’t worrying about Gabby’s journey until late August, when her contact with her daughter broke. During their last conversation, all Nicole knew was that Gabby was in Grand Teton National Park.

After more than two weeks passed, Schmidt found out that Brian has returned to his parent’s home, quietly, in Petito’s car, but Gabby is not with him.
