A third woman has come forward with sexual harassment allegations against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. His brother Chris Cuomo has addressed the issue on his CNN show Monday, saying that he is unable to cover it because they’re related, and it would be a conflict of interest.
While speaking to the audience, he claimed that he is aware of the situation, but since he won’t be covering it.
Previously, two former aides had accused Governor Cuomo of sexual harassment while they worked under his administration. CNN covered the entire story in 12 segments from Friday to Sunday.
The governor has addressed the sexual harassment claims, acknowledging that his actions might have been insensitive and made others feel uncomfortable.
The governor has also been accused of reporting a false number of coronavirus deaths in New York nursing homes to avoid federal investigation. According to the New York Post, one of Cuomo’s aides has also addressed the issue of the nursing homes, claiming that they did not report accurate numbers because of fear of the reaction from the federal prosecutors.
CNN has also come under fire for allowing Chris Cuomo to conduct a humorous interview with the New York Governor amidst the coronavirus crisis.
The media network defended this decision by claiming that they thought it was necessary to discuss the pandemic that was impacting millions of Americans.
A senior meteorologist for Fox News Channel also criticized the governor for mishandling the pandemic, especially pointing out the humorous skit where Chris Cuomo used a giant cotton swab, pretending to test for the coronavirus, to make fun of his brother’s nose.
She tweeted that she will never forget the two brothers joking on television while thousands of people were losing their lives.
