The United Kingdom soap stars are making all the crossovers on steaming platforms like never before. Two famous soap actors of the UK are all set to make special appearances in specially crafted skits at the famous “First Dates” show in order to help the Children in Need organization.
EastEnders’ Janine Butcher, played by actress Charlie Brooks is all set to make an appearance on the hit dating show of Channel 4 – First Dates, in her conquest to find true love. Her partner in the sketch will be Steve McDonald from Coronation Street, played by Simon Gregson. According to the reports, Steve, who has been married 7 times previously, will be dating the feisty and fiery Janine in the show.
The couple will be greeted by French maître d’hôtel Fred Sirieix from First Dates who will act as cupid in making them work out together and check out how the blind date turns out to be.
The sketch is written by BAFTA award-winner writer Daran Little, who was also nominated for an Emmy. The writer knows the characters very well as he wrote EastEnders and Coronation Street in the past.
The sketch will be part of the Children in Need appeal show to be telecasted on BBC One on Friday, November 19, 2021.
According to the sketch, Janine will make a return to Albert Square after she left EastEnders in 2014 whereas Simon Gregson who has been playing the role of Steve McDonald on Corrie, is all set to take part in the famous I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here this year. The news is yet to be confirmed by the actor and ITV but the strong rumors suggest the news is almost confirmed.
