Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez reportedly have broken up their two-year-long engagement and have split according to People Magazine.
J-Lo and Rodriguez were last spotted in public in February at the Super Bowl LV in Florida, one year after she herself was part of the halftime show with the Columbian singer Shakira in Miami. They were also seen at the Inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris where she performed, sharing a kiss between them.
Jennifer Lopez is currently shooting a romantic comedy called “Shotgun wedding” which has taken her to the Dominican Republic.
Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez made their relationship public in May 2017 in the Met Gala and since then they have been together. Rodriguez asked Lopez to marry him in March 2019 where he got on his knees during a romantic beach vacation. Lopez said “Yes” and they had been engaged ever since.
The couple was supposed to get married in Italy in June 2020, however, their plans were delayed due to the pandemic and they were waiting for a more suitable time to tie their knots. Lopez appeared on Ellen in April 2020 where she was asked about her wedding plans and she said that everything was on hold for now.
In December 2020, it seemed that she was questioning her decision on whether or not she should be getting married as revealed on Andy Cohen’s radio show. She did seem very confused regarding the decision on getting married and was questioning whether or not it was the right thing to do. She, however, did remark that she has talked to her partner about it and they were not in any sort of rush in getting married. She also said that they were very sad to postpone their wedding plans as Italy was their destination to get married and it was one of the places that were worst hit by the pandemic.
Jennifer Lopez had been in a relationship three times before her relationship with Alex Rodriguez. Her first wedding was with Ojani Noa which only lasted a year from 1997 to 1998. Cris Judd married her in 2001 which lasted till 2003. She was then married to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 with whom she has 13-year-old twins. Rodriguez on the other hand was married only to Cynthia Scurtis which lasted for six years from 2002 to 2008 and they have two daughters.
