There were lots of witty merch T-shirts, cocktails, and vodka at Jesy Nelson’s celebratory release party that she threw for her newest single with rapper, Nicki Minaj. She showed her fans a look inside the party via her Instagram account.
Jesy Nelson is a former Little Mix band member, who left the group only last year. Many doubted that Nelson wouldn’t garner much attention without the audience she had as part of Little Mix. But her debut solo release is already hitting the top global charts. So far, there have been no comments of support or acknowledgment from her previous fellow band members.
Jesy Nelson was seen celebrating with her friends, partying in a nightclub until morning hours. She shared multiple pictures and videos of her dancing and drinking along with her friends. She captioned one of the videos, “I literally have the bestest friends in the world.” Shots were poured out, deserts were had, while her friends sang and danced around with her song cover on their T-shirts. The party continued until 4 a.m.
Boyz by Jesy Nelson Ft. Nicki Minaj on YouTube already has 3.6 million views and is #3 on trending, just a day after the release. The song has been released only 10 months after her quitting the band.
Before the release of the song, Jesy talked about feeling quite weird as there has come a distance between her and her ex-bandmates. She said to the Glamour, “I haven’t spoken to the girls. It is weird because for so many years we were as close as sisters, together every hour of the day for weeks, sharing beds, laughing, crying just 24/7 the four of us together and then nothing.”
Moreover, there have been allegations claiming ‘Jesy Nelson blackfishing’ in the music video of Boyz. Previously when asked about the allegations, she said she was ‘aware’ of being a white woman being accused of certain things.
