The Dancing with the Stars episode on Monday was full of outstanding performances by stars channeling their inner Disney heroes.
The celebrations peaked when Judge Derek Hough showed up at the show after missing the previous episode due to Covid-19 SOPs. Not just him, Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby made their comeback after releasing from self-quarantine to hit the dance floor.
However, like every Disney movie is incomplete without conflicts, so was Disney night. In Monday’s episode, a recap of Tom Bergeron’s case was played, in which the show’s host publicly discussed his firing in 2020.
Even though Disney’s fun night had some rough moments, JoJo Siwa’s Prince Charming look cheered up the audience.
First time in the history of the “DWTS” show someone chose a dance partner of the same sex. Yes, we are talking about JoJo Siwa, who went for the Prince Charming look to dance with her pro partner, Jenna Johnson. After giving several performances in matching outfits, the girl-couple decided to go with the Cinderella theme for Monday night. While Jojo Siwa dressed up as Prince Charming, her partner, Johnson, sparkled in a blue color cinderella gown.
After blowing away the audience with their performance, JoJo Siwa said that “I was more excited to be a prince.” Indeed, their performance was like a magic show, with graceful twirling in front of the palace. The duo surely stole the heart of the audience, and of course, the judges as well, as Bruno Tonioli commented, “a Viennese waltz for the 21st century” and added, “you two are a dream come true.”
Meanwhile, the second judge Carrie Ann praised the powerful dynamics saying, “You showed the whole world that girls can do anything guys can do, maybe even better.”
After scoring 9 from the judges, the duo became the first pair of the season, making it to the top of the scoreboard.
