In its Weekend Update segment, “Saturday Night Live” hailed Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s appointment to the United States Supreme Court.

Co-host Colin Jost said Jackson’s statements were a direct quote from the proposal of Ben Affleck to Jennifer Lopez when she was addressing at the White House about her appointment to the Supreme Court last week.

Later, Jost brought up the super-spreader Gridiron dinner, when the coronavirus was found in scores of people, including members of Congress and White House employees. “The problem was a lot of people took off their masks during the post-dinner orgy,” joked Jost.

Slapping Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars wasn’t truly a punishment, Jost said last week, but the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has barred Will Smith from attending the Academy Awards ceremony for the next decade.

“He can still be nominated and even win an award. He can even go to the after-party. He just doesn’t have to attend the four-hour ceremony where someone is definitely going to make fun of his wife again,” Jost said.

A “real punishment,” according to the comedian, would be to have Will Smith host the Oscars next year.

“Because, trust me, nothing will make you question your choices in life more than hosting an awards show.”  He referred to the Emmy Awards 2018.
