Everton made history this Saturday in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against Liverpool. The Toffees had not won at Anfield since 1999.
Everton under the leadership of Ancelotti scored the first goal when Richarlison got a pass and he made no mistake in scoring the winning goal within the first three minutes of the game.
Not only it was a great surprise for Liverpool, but it also became difficult for them to get the hold of the ball during the first half. Everton after scoring the first goal kept the pressure on Liverpool, which made them uncomfortable.
The game caught the momentum when Liverpool opted to follow an aggressive approach. Liverpool started to control the ball and made some attempts to score a goal.
However, it appears that the lady luck was in Liverpool’s favor because when midfielder Henderson got injured during the intense scuffle, he had been replaced – that was surely bad news for the team.
The first round ended with Everton leading the match and they also defended their poles well when Liverpool got aggressive.
During the second half, Sigurdsson scores the second goal. This puts immense pressure on the opponents who looked desperate to end the match at least with a tie. But as all their moves have been well defended by Everton, there was a lesser chance of achieving it.
Everton’s victory at Liverpool came after 21 years.
After this match, Liverpool has lost the final Premier League matches.
