Meghan Markle is embroiled in another family saga and like always, it isn’t pleasant. But this time around, the Duchess of Sussex has been put down by her estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr. In a teaser of Australia’s Big Brother VIP, Markle Jr. was quick to take a jibe at his long-lost sister.
The show’s official Twitter page posted a short clip, where Markle Jr was introduced as the first celebrity contestant. During the snippet, Markle Jr. can be seen proclaiming; “I’m Meghan Markle’s brother. I’m the biggest brother of them all.”
He even went on to recall a past moment with Prince Harry, telling him how Meghan Markle will ruin his life as she is “very shallow.” While Markle Jr goes on to make snarky comments about his half-sibling, the Duchess has just removed herself from the picture.
Not only has Meghan Markle distanced herself from Markle Jr, but also their father Thomas Markle, and her half-sister Samantha Markle. Earlier this year, the actress had even opened up about her unstable relationship with her dad after her and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey hit the screens.
She mentioned a specific event, where her father allegedly staged pictures with photographers before her royal wedding in 2018. In a clip that was made public, Markle was seen telling Winfrey about her father’s divisive thinking and collaboration with the paparazzi.
Initially, Thomas Markle had refused any connection with the media house. However, he later admitted to lying about his affiliation with the paparazzi. In the same interview, Meghan Markle showered words of praise on her mother, Doria Ragland, who is yet to comment on her life.
Additionally, she added how everyone has “accountability”– a gesture made towards her mother who has “remained in silent dignity.” Markle even spoke about her strained relationship with half-sister Samantha.
According to the Duchess, she never regarded Samantha as a family as she barely knew her while growing up. But when Markle started dating the Duke of Sussex, Samantha was quick to switch back to her maiden name- Markle. Says a lot about her, doesn’t it?
