All “The Crown’s” fans can now meet the new husband of Princess Diana, Prince Charles.
Netflix, recently, has unveiled the initial look at Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki in the character of the royal couple for “The Crown’s” forthcoming 5th and 6th highly-anticipated seasons. Josh O’ Connor and Emma Corrin previously played the role of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
On Tuesday, a latest picture has been released by Netflix of Debicki showing Diana’s trademark short and blond hair while sitting on a peach-colored couch with a sweet smile on her face.
According to Debicki, it was an honor for her to portray the lovely Diana. She said this in a message that she posted in August on her official account.
She remarked that Princess Diana lives on with her deeds, words, and spirits in the hearts of millions of people. She asserted that it was a real honor and pleasure for her to be a part of the remarkable series that has kept her captivated from the first episode.
Social media fans, on Tuesday, appreciated the latest selection for the most loved princess and praised her astonishing similarity with the Princess.
One of the fans remarked that Debicki’s Diana is flawless. Similarly, there were other fans who called her performance excellent and said that she has been exquisitely cast.
However, West’s Portrayal as Prince Charles ceased to go as intended.
With West being dressed as Charles in the published picture, people were seen requesting Netflix to rethink and redo the casting for the role.
One of the fans tweeted that West is surely a good actor but he is not well-suited for the role of Prince Charles.
Some people also said that West was just too beautiful to play the role of Prince Charles while others pointed towards his actions and called it “unforgivable”, “generous”, and “crazy”.
Princess Diana was featured in Season 4 of Netflix’s “The Crown,” which focused on Queen Elizabeth II’s reign from 1979 to 1990. Season 4 of “The Crown” chronicled the highs and lows of Princess Diana’s and Prince Charles’s romance, beginning with their February 1981 engagement, their July 1981 wedding, and their ultimate divorce due to extramarital relationships.
Debicki, 29, most recently appeared with John David Washington and Robert Pattinson in Christopher Nolan’s 2020 thriller “Tenet.”
The actress is most recognized for her breakthrough appearance in “Widows” of Steve McQueen, as well as supporting parts in “The Great Gatsby” of 2013 and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2”.
West is most recognized for his performances in “The Wire” as Jimmy McNulty and in “The Affair” as Noah Solloway on television dramas. Among his other cinematic credits are the 2018 feature “Colette,” the 2002 film “Chicago,” and the 2007 picture “300.”
