If ex-husband goals were a thing, Nick Cannon would be making it on the top of the list!

Nick Cannon released his new single, “Alone,” on Valentine’s Day, purportedly dedicated to his former wife, Mariah Carey.

While the song might not directly point at his ex-wife, the lyrics proved that the singer had Mariah Carey on his mind while singing the song. Not just that, the American comedian come rapper even sampled Carey’s 90’s song ‘Alone in Love’ for his single.

Rumors had that, The Nick Cannon Show, Wild ‘n Out host, misses his ex-wife as he released the song just right on Valentine’s.

“Alone” is the first track from Nick Cannon’s upcoming song album ‘Raw NB: The Explicit Tape’ set to release on February 18.

“I say I’m cool when I know I miss it/ I’d trade it all for the case/ If I could have you back/ If I could go back to where we started at,” reads the lyrics of the 41-year-old rapper’s song.

The singer continues to sing in the song, “As much as I want you back/ It’s probably better where you at/ Cause I’m still running the streets/ I’m still all in the sheets. Having babies, models and singers and actresses saying they pregnant by me” he adds.

Nick announced his song release via an Instagram post that saw the song’s link attached to it.

“This is for anybody else who is #ALONE on Valentines Day… I had to come Raw from the heart on this one. #Broken #Shattered #Toxic #RAW&B #Alone.” Nick wrote for the caption.

In a recent statement about his new release, the single/host said his new album is ‘the gospel of his broken soul and this is as raw as it gets’. In the interview, the so-called hottest young African-American star on the horizon described his songs as “an ode to Mariah Carey”

In 2005 Nick and Mariah met for the first time at the Teen Choice Awards, where he presented his now-ex-wife with the Choice Music R&B Artist award. That was the time when Mariah was drunk with success due to her very popular ‘The Emancipation of Mimi,’ album while Nick was focused on his MTV show.

The sparks between the two began flying when Mariah cast the rapper in her music video for the song ‘Bye Bye’. Since then, the dating rumors circulated till they got married. Later in 2008, the couple tied the knot and was so in love that they renewed their wedding vows every anniversary. In 2011 the couple announced the birth of their twin children, Monroe and Moroccan. But unfortunately, they parted ways in 2014 and officially separated in 2016. In 2021, Cannon’s only son with Alyssa Scott, Zen, died from a brain tumor.
