Russia claimed a fresh set of empty promises of ceasefire while targeting the fleeing Ukrainians, creating another human catastrophe in Ukraine.

Russia had claimed a ceasefire in the early hours of Wednesday, providing a safe passage to the Ukrainians who are fleeing the war-torn country, especially from the four major cities which are badly affected by the ongoing war.

The humanitarian corridors were promised in Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Mariupol, and Kharkiv as thousands of Ukrainians remain trapped in these cities while the Russian military encircles the region.

This time around, the world will see whether Russia keeps its promise or not because last time during the ceasefire fresh airstrikes were made on the refugees who were trying to evacuate their homeland.

Mikhail Mizintsev, the head of the Russian national defense control center stated that, Russian forces would observe a regime of silence from 10 a.m. Moscow time on Wednesday.

Kyiv has shown great resilience as it is the city being struck the worst by the heavy artillery used by Russian military forces.

Oleksiy Kuleba, the regional administration head of Kyiv lashed out at Russia stating that it isartificially creating a humanitarian crisis in the Kyiv region.”

Kuleba condemned the Russian forces stating that, “the aggressors have been frustrating the evacuation of people and continuing shelling and bombing small communities”

According to the UN, about 2 million Ukrainians have fled the countries whereas thousands of citizens of Ukraine along with soldiers have died while defending their country.

Apart from Kyiv, the port of Mariupol has been badly stricken by the war. It is on the edge of a humanitarian crisis. It has been days that the port city has been encircled by the Russian forces. It has a population of about 430,000 and there is nowhere out for the people at the moment.

According to the mayor of Mariupol, there are corpses lying on the streets and people who are still alive are desperately searching for food and other essentials to survive.

Thousands of people are still sheltered in basements as Russians continue to shell upon the port city ruthlessly.

Mariupol witnessed an airstrike on Tuesday while Russia had committed a safe exit for people who wanted to leave.

Russia has overly denied targeting the fleeing Ukrainians of convoys of refugees.

Neighboring countries have come forward to aid the war-torn country and take in the refugees which are fleeing from Ukraine. Poland is on number one who is taking Ukrainian refugees as well as aiming to help the country in the form of supply of weapons and ammunition.

America rejected the Ukrainian president’s plea of calling Ukraine a no-fly zone as America thinks this will make it come into a potential direct war with Russia.”America wants to avoid what at all cost as it is not in a position to wage war while the economy and the country are still striving to stand back after the long, nerve-racking pandemic.
