For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, actress Shannen Doherty has shared a realistic look into being a Cancer patient with an emotional caption. Doherty, known for her roles in ‘Little House on the Prairie’, ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’, ‘Kris Witherspoon in Our House’, among many others has been a survivor since 2015.

Shannen Doherty talked about cutting through the fear and facing what might be ahead of us. Her post included an urge for people to get checkups and mammograms that might lead to early detection. She talked about cheering herself on by putting on funny pajamas, she said talking about her picture in cookie monster pajama set. She ended her message by talking about finding humor in the impossible.

“Is it all pretty? NO, but it’s truthful and my hope in sharing is that we all become more educated, more familiar with what cancer looks like,” said Shannen Doherty in her post. “I hope I encourage people to get mammograms, to get regular checkups, to cut thru the fear and face whatever might be in front of you.” The actress revealed last year that her cancer had entered stage 4.

While Doherty is fighting cancer that is eating her up alive, she has not slowed down professionally as she has completed work on three films that are expected to release in the period of the next two years. Expected titles of the films are, “Dying to Belong,” “List of a Lifetime,” and  “Fortress.”

October is Global Breast Cancer Awareness month. In this month organizations, public and private, unite to make efforts towards spreading awareness and making the process of detection and addressing the issue of Breast Cancer simple for potential patients. There are many ways to get support in your locality or carry out a self-examination for early detection. Early detection helps prevent severe consequences, as Shannen Doherty educates people.
