The action-packed car shooting game, Grand Theft Auto, was like none other of its time and won the hearts of millions of gamers when it released its first game back in 1997.

Since then, Epic Games, the game developing company, has released four parts to the game and each part was more loved than the last. Now in 2020, the company has gamers at the edge of their seats with the release of the 5th edition of the game GTA V.

What makes the release of this game even more exciting is that it is offered for free till the 21st of May. The news had every gamer on the Epic Games Store, refreshing their pages and waiting to grab the game as soon as it came out.

Unfortunately, when it was time for the game to go live the online store seemed to have crashed due to the overload of users on the site. The developing company had been hyping up the launch of an unnamed free game since the previous night and had been counting down to its release at 11 a.m. the next day.

When enough hype was created, the company decided to drop the name earlier and when they found out it was none other than GTA V they got more pumped. However, Epic Games was unable to predict what came next as they faced a complete outage when the launch time came due to all the hype created.

The company decided to address this issue quickly through a tweet in which they wrote that there is high traffic on the store which caused it to go out. They further went on to thank the people for their patience and assured them that they are investigating the problem and working hard to get the store up and running again as soon as possible.

The overload of users on their store seemed to have affected other services of the company as well. Many people were facing issues loading Epic’s games in their computers, Macs, and even their mobile phones.

The company addressed the issue on Tweeter and has ensured the gamers to solve the issue with their store at their earliest.
