Travis Scott announces project HEAL in respect of the Astroworld tragedy that led to 13 deaths and countless injuries.

The famous American rapper, Travis Scott posted on his Instagram a link to his latest philanthropist project called project HEAL – which is his way of giving back to the community with philanthropy.

“Over the past few months I’ve been taking the time and space to grieve, reflect and do my part to heal my community,” The rapper began, “Most importantly, I want to use my resources and platform moving forward towards actionable change.  This will be a lifelong journey for me and my family.”

He went on to add, “While it’s easy for corporations and institutions to stay in the shadows, I feel as a leader in my community, I need to step up in times of need,” he continued. “My team and I created Project HEAL to take much-needed action towards supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be. I will always honor the victims of the Astroworld tragedy who remain in my heart forever.” 

The famous rapper concluded his post by saying “Giving back and creating opportunities for the youth is something I’ve always done and will continue to do as long as I have the chance.  This program will be a catalyst to real change and I can’t wait to introduce the rest of the technology and ideas we’ve been working on. See you all so soon.” 

Jacques Bermon Webster, who goes by the name of Travis Scott was performing at the Astroworld music festival back in November 2021 when the tragedy hit due to mismanagement at the festival, resulting in several deaths and injuries.

The authorities allegedly claimed that most of the crowd had sneaked into the venue to get a glimpse of the famous stars.

Scott received severe criticism for not stopping the show while people were dying in the crowd. He has made multiple claims that he was completely unaware of the situation in the crowd and couldn’t see any of it from his performing site. He allegedly only learned about it once his act finished and the show was concluded. The victims who died were between the ages of 14 to 27 whereas one victim of the tragedy who died later on in the hospital by the name of Ezra Blount who was only 9-year-old. Most of the families of the victims filed lawsuits against Travis Scott and the organizers for compensation of the loss for the grieving families.
