Florida – Woman who killed another woman over the summer in alleged NYC execution-style-was arrested on Monday.
The surveillance video revealed that the woman who got arrested killed the victim while she was busy talking to her friends. The girl was shot straight in the head on the street of New York City – said the authorities.
The suspect has not been identified yet. However, Jacksonville has taken her into custody on account of Delia Johnson’s killing on August 4 in Florida.
The arrest details have yet to be disclosed by the authorities.
Dermot Shea, the New York police commissioner, broke the arrest news on Twitter.
He wrote, “You can run, but the long arm of the law will find you. The woman responsible for the August 4th murder of a #A Brooklyn woman has been apprehended by our partners in Jacksonville, Florida.”
The video captured shows the girl leaning on the side railing and talking to her friends near a building in the Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood when the other woman abruptly appeared and shot her in the head and walked back to her double-parked car and fled the scene.
The surveillance showed the suspect casually walking towards the victim before shooting her. Later after the incident, the victim was shifted to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
When the authorities took a statement from the victim’s brother, Mathis Johnson, he said, the killer may have been tracking his sister from the funeral of a resident from another neighborhood on the same day.
“She was at a funeral earlier in the evening for an old neighborhood friend to pay her respects, and then this happened,” said Mathis. “It was horrible. That lady executed my sister.”
Previously, Johnson’s relatives claimed they recognized the killer “as a one-time close family friend”. However, the NYPD has yet to determine the relationship between the two.
Johnson’s 17-year-old Ladeya Jenkins stated to The Post during her mother’s funeral, “I just hope that you realize what you did and [I] wonder what made you do such a thing,”
