Bitcoin Futures to Be Launched in 2019
Joseph Christinat, the Vice President of the American Stock Exchange (Nasdaq), has confirmed that the Exchange will be launching Bitcoin Futures in the first half of 2019. Regulatory approval is currently pending from the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), which is what they are waiting for. This should not come as a surprise because even traditional banking institutions are now accepting and acknowledging this new emerging asset class.
After years of research on the impact caused by the launch of Bitcoin Futures, the Stock Exchange is finally ready to accept Bitcoin. According to Joseph Christinat, Bitcoin Futures will be listed and launched in the first half of 2019 and they are just waiting for the go-ahead from the CFTC.
