When you start to reach a milestone age like 50, you think about winding down and settling down with a relaxed lifestyle. Not if you’re Andy Cohen, you’re not. His life is just about to get all the more hectic with his recent announcement of parenthood. The 50-year-old TV host and personality proves that age is just a number when it comes to the grand scheme of life.
Andy Cohen has been known for hosting some of the most popular shows like Live! with Kelly and The View. It was on his own show that he made this defining announcement.
On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he was quoted saying, “I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks’ time, I’m going to become a father thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future.”
Who would’ve thought? Andy Cohen is becoming a father to his first child right at the moment when most people would have adults as children. It’s a testament to Andy’s free spirit and love of life.
He talked openly about his feelings on the show. He said, “Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life.” He added, “Though it’s taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet.”
According to sources, close friends and family along with the staff of Watch What Happens Live were aware of the news several weeks before it was announced. He was relieved to finally make the announcement, as he stated on Instagram, “I’ve wanted to shout my personal news from rooftops, so finally telling everybody last week was a huge joy.”
Ever since his announcement, he has received words of encouragement and congratulations from his fellow celebrity friends. He was congratulated by Real Housewives of New York stars like Romona Singer commenting, “about [sic] 5 weeks more.” No doubt, the next five weeks will be the most trying moments ever for the TV personality.
Nothing makes this news more worth it than to see Andy Cohen’s beaming smile when he finally gets out in the open. In an era where most would think twice starting a family past their mid-30s, Andy provides some hope. He proves that it’s never too late to enjoy the love of a family.
