Downtown Austin Shooting: Police Seek Persons of Interest
The Austin Police Department (APD) is actively seeking assistance in identifying several individuals connected to an aggravated assault incident that occurred in downtown Austin on August 4th.
Initial Incident
At approximately 2:24 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of East 7th and Trinity Street. Upon arrival, they encountered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and remains under medical care.
Investigation
Detectives investigating the incident have determined that a large altercation involving multiple individuals preceded the shooting. They believe the disturbance is directly related to the assault.
Search for Suspects
Through their investigation, authorities have obtained images of several persons of interest believed to have been involved in the altercation. The APD is requesting public assistance in identifying these individuals.
