Chief designer Fang Yuangpen described its unique characteristics: “With a blunt-nosed fuselage and large, swept-back delta wings, it combines the characteristics of both spacecraft and aircraft, allowing it to be launched into orbit and land like a plane.”

As China prepares to expand its Tiangong space station from three to six modules, Haolong is expected to play a vital role in ensuring regular resupply. Whether Haolong will surpass the Dream Chaser in orbit remains to be determined.
